Star Shine

"Shoot for the Stars" - T. Harv Eker
While some Monday mornings I have a good idea what I am going to write about - life has a way of shaking that up a bit, as with so many things that come across our path.
This morning was a case in point. There was another quote I had to share with you today but upon arising at 5:30 and looking out my window I saw the most amazing star! What is now today's quote popped right into my head from a conference that I had attended over the weekend.
Upon seeing this bright shining star (which I actually believe to be a planet - Venus perhaps?) I did what you need to do at such a moment - making a wish for my week ahead.
The incredible thing about stars is that as I write this, the sun will come up and even though the star will still be there, we won't be able to see it anymore through the brightness of the day. But in my minds eye I won't forget it, the way it made me feel or the wish I made. In order to savor it as long as possible I changed my normal writing spot so I can look at it while writing this mornings letter - very inspiring indeed. Especially as the sun makes it's way on the horizon making the star smaller and smaller.
With this beautiful start to the week I can't help believe that if I keep my mental attitude in check - remembering to shoot for the stars, the week ahead will be memorable as well! It is amazing the things you can see when you open your eyes (and the mind behind them) just a little bit wider.
This past week we journeyed out and saw the Wizard of Oz on the big screen. Now here is a movie that I have seen sooooo many times since I was a child on the TV screen. It was so amazing to see it on the big theatre screen. Guess what? Yes, I saw things that I had never seen before. It's true - in a movie that I have seen probably at least 25 times. There were all the little details that were so much clearer. From flowers, to streams, to a bird at end of the finding the Tin Man scene that I swear I never saw before.
So my message to you in this week's Victory Letter is going to be short and simple. Ask yourself this question as you begin your week ahead - what are some elements of your life that are all around you - things you may have seen many times before - but never actually let it thoroughly sink in. Perhaps being too busy to stop and enjoy the fall foliage that is beginning to explode all around us here on the Colorado front range. See a star in the early morning light. Grab an opportunity that is right before you!
I challenge you in these last few days of September and beginning days of October to stop and look a little closer - breathe a little deeper - and be grateful for all that is in your life right now and all that is possible in your tomorrows.
Happy Star Gazing!
