Lost vs. Found

"Do you want to be a victim or victorious?" - Dr. Cherie Carter Scott
Life comes at us from many directions that is for sure! This morning I woke up when my daughter (the bagel girl) got ready for work at 5 am. With every intention to write this letter after helping her get on her way...I dozed off for a few minutes only to discover that several hours had passed. Several hours of interesting dreams ensued - giving my day a different start than I had originally imagined.
In my dreams I was traveling by the ocean meeting interesting people. People that I just happened to run into along my journeys. The crazy part of it was that I kept getting lost in a very funky car I was driving - each time I did I would meet a cool person. My misfortune would become a treasure. In my dream one of the coolest people I came across was my Mom. She was there telling me of her journeys to date full of excitement and life. I woke up missing her, but happy to have felt her so close to me. Happy as well, to have had the opportunity to get a little more sleep to start my day.
Now as I scramble to get back on track I have to remember the message of the dreams as opposed to the fact that I am running late!
Funny while writing to you now I look out my office window to see our pool with snow on the edges (see today's picture). Yes this past weekend as the white stuff fell from the sky it was a reminder of the how from day to day anything is possible! With Ed having been out of town (our official pool guy) we had not yet had a chance to close the pool for the season. The result though is really very beautiful.
So the essence and thoughts of victory that are coming to me this morning is that we can cry in our milk about what is wrong or find solutions to make them right. See the beauty and reasoning in what is, as opposed to only seeing what isn't. Find a warm fire to sit in front of as opposed to only seeing the cold. Take the time to meet cool and interesting people along our way - even if it is only in our dreams.
Imagine taking the challenges that lay before you this week and turning them into tremendous opportunities in your life. Opportunities that are both of the big and small varieties. When you are feeling lost, what are the things around you that you did not see before, things that you could have possibly driven right past - never even seeing them. Could it in fact mean that you really were not actually lost?
Just think on this Columbus Day the happenings back in 1492 and what Christopher ended up finding when he got a bit lost!
