Gold To Grow

"Ancora Imparo"  - Michelangelo

As I write to you this morning the aspen trees right outside my office window have turned to the most beautiful gold (see today's picture).  It is as if they are illuminated.  So very beautiful and yet I know that it is a temporary beauty that will be gone within the next couple of days.  The final splash of color before these trees go to sleep for the winter.  Change is all around - what comes with change, from my perspective, is the opportunity to experience, to learn and to grow.

Therefore, today's quote seemed quite appropriate which was Michelangelo saying in Italian, "I am always learning."  These beautiful words came to me this past week on a magnificently crafted Italian plate, a gift from my husband that he had found on his travels.  I loved the sweetness of the gift and the thought of the words.  Let's face it, when we are always learning - there is much hope for what can be possible in our lives.

When it comes to the idea of continuously learning it is something that feeds my soul.  The possibilities to improve or simply learn a new skill, thought or idea are endless when you open your mind to it.  It is a basic requirement in being of an Entrepreneurial mindset.  We are quite fortunate in these days of the Internet and teleconferences that we can be learning in a moment from masters from around the world.  On Saturday morning I listened to a call with Jay Abraham and Rich Schefren who were interviewing Tony Robbins.  The call was enlightening and I thought I would give you a quick synopsis.

Basically Tony was talking about the Art of Fulfillment and the three pillars that it takes to experience it thoroughly.  Since we are directing our attention on the Master Mind Principal of Concentration in the Victory Circles this month I thought it was very telling that the first pillar was focus.  Here is what he had to say:

Pillar 1  - Get Focus.  Interestingly he said that research has been done about how multi-tasking can actually break down your ability to get focus.  I don't know about you but I know this to be true!   Some days I feel like I am going to implode with too much swirling around me.  Feeling quite like an octopus with my hands in way too many things.  His recommendation is to slow down (is that really possible!!) and take on one task at a time.  What a novel idea!  Delegation too comes into play here - as we grow, it becomes harder and harder to do it all.

Pillar 2 - Use the best tools.  From the computer to other tools that you use in your business.  How often do you find yourself "putting up" with inadequate tools that lead you to total distraction?  Wasting your time and energy as you continuously are thinking, "I should replace or fix this", but time ticks on as you work with tools that don't best serve you.

Pillar 3  - Getting Going.  He talked about unlocking and unleashing yourself from the things that are stopping you.  In other words, letting go of the head junk that creates a lot of inner conflicts.  This can keep us spinning in circles while we give ourselves excuses and reasons why the things we want to have accomplished have not gotten there yet.  Putting off until tomorrow what we know we should be accomplishing today.  Imagine putting off looking at the changing of the leaves until tomorrow.  A huge gust of wind could make that not possible.  Do it now!

So as the leaves of the Aspens wait for no one, perhaps so should our desires to make this the week that we accomplish things that have long been holding on our plate or wish list.  That we energetically engage others to help us so that we don't have to rush through the process of getting it all done.  That we clearly, methodically and wisely use our best tools as we get the job(s) done that will move us forward.  Yes, as we focus forward!
